Coating and Painting

The coating and painting stage is one of the final steps in the hydraulic cylinder production process, and it is a critical operation that ensures both the aesthetic appearance and durability of the product. At HYDROGEARS, we meticulously apply coating and painting processes to ensure that each hydraulic cylinder we produce is resistant to external factors and meets aesthetic expectations.

Surface Preparation

Before the coating and painting process, the surface of the product is carefully prepared. During this stage, contaminants such as dirt, oil, rust, and other unwanted substances on the cylinder's surface are cleaned. Surface preparation is one of the most critical steps because improper cleaning before painting or coating can cause both aesthetic and functional problems. HYDROGEARS uses modern surface preparation techniques such as sandblasting, acid cleaning, or mechanical cleaning to ensure a smooth surface for the cylinders.

Coating Process

The coating process is performed to protect the cylinders from corrosion. Hydraulic cylinders that operate in outdoor environments are continuously exposed to external factors such as moisture, rain, dust, and chemicals. Therefore, the surfaces of the cylinders need to be made resistant to these factors. At HYDROGEARS, the coating materials used in our production processes increase the mechanical durability of the products and provide maximum protection against corrosion. Durable and long-lasting coating methods such as zinc coating, nickel coating, or chrome coating are commonly used for this purpose.

The materials used in the coating process also extend the product's lifespan and reduce maintenance requirements. Once applied to the cylinder's outer surface, the coating material hardens and forms a protective layer against external factors. HYDROGEARS ensures that each cylinder remains durable even under the most challenging conditions by using internationally recognized methods in coating processes.

Painting Process

The painting stage, following the coating process, improves the product's aesthetic appearance and provides an additional protective layer. The paints used in the painting process must be highly durable and meet aesthetic expectations. At HYDROGEARS, we use environmentally friendly and long-lasting paints to enhance the appearance of the cylinders. Special colors requested by our customers can also be used, providing color solutions suitable for industrial needs.

Painting is usually carried out using an electrostatic powder coating technique. In this technique, powder paint particles are adhered to the cylinder’s surface with the help of an electrostatic field. This method ensures even distribution of paint on the surface and achieves a flawless appearance. Additionally, powder coating is advantageous from a sustainability perspective as it is an environmentally friendly method. After painting, cylinders are baked in special ovens at a specific temperature to ensure the paint adheres permanently to the surface.

Corrosion Protection

Coating and painting processes are performed not only for the product's aesthetic appearance but also to enhance its resistance to corrosion. Hydraulic cylinders, especially when used in outdoor or harsh industrial environments, can come into contact with water, salty air, chemicals, and other abrasive substances. Therefore, it is essential to make the external surfaces of the cylinders resistant to such conditions. HYDROGEARS uses materials that provide maximum protection against corrosion during the coating and painting processes, ensuring the longevity of the products.

Tests performed during the coating and painting phase are also crucial for verifying the quality of these processes. Tests such as salt spray testing determine how resistant the paint and coating are to abrasive conditions. We ensure that the corrosion resistance of our products meets international standards based on these tests.

Quality Control and Final Inspection

After the coating and painting processes are completed, our products undergo a detailed inspection by our quality control team. During this stage, we ensure that the coating and painting have been applied correctly and that there are no defects on the surface. Measurement devices and tests used in the quality control process check the paint thickness, color accuracy, and coating uniformity. If any issues are detected, the products are reprocessed and delivered to our customers without defects.

At HYDROGEARS, we meticulously carry out the coating and painting stages to ensure that all our products are aesthetically flawless, durable, and long-lasting. This process is a critical step to ensure that our cylinders perform flawlessly even in harsh industrial environments. Additionally, by using environmentally friendly materials and techniques in our coating and painting processes, we provide both quality and environmental sustainability.
